OnePlus Skips 14, Confirms OnePlus 15 India Launch and Pricing

OnePlus has confirmed what leakers spent months predicting: there will be no OnePlus 14. The company is skipping the number entirely and naming its next flagship the OnePlus 15 — the same move it made with the number 4 — because "four" sounds close to the Mandarin and Cantonese word for death. The OnePlus 15 makes its India debut with a starting price of ₹69,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant, positioning it against the Samsung Galaxy S26 and iPhone 17 in the premium Android segment.

Confirmed Specifications

OnePlus has confirmed the core specifications ahead of the event. The OnePlus 15 runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra+ RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display supports up to 165Hz, a marked jump from the 120Hz panel on the OnePlus 13.

The 7,300mAh battery is the headline spec — the largest OnePlus has shipped in a numbered flagship — paired with 120W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.

Camera, Without Hasselblad

The dual-camera system features a 50MP Sony IMX906 main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 50MP periscope telephoto offering 3.5x optical zoom (up to 7x optical-quality zoom via sensor cropping). Notably, this is the first numbered OnePlus flagship without Hasselblad branding — the two companies' five-year camera partnership has ended, with OnePlus moving to an in-house colour and imaging pipeline instead.

OxygenOS 16

The OnePlus 15 ships with OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16. OnePlus has not yet detailed its exact update commitment for this generation, though recent devices have carried four years of OS updates and six years of security patches — shorter than Samsung and Google's seven-year commitments, but an improvement over OnePlus's older track record.

Availability

The OnePlus 15 is already on sale in China, having launched there in October 2025 ahead of its international rollout. UK and European pricing lands around £799–899 for the base model, broadly in line with previous OnePlus numbered-flagship pricing.
