Vivo X300 Ultra Is the First Vivo Ultra Ever Sold Outside China
After years of China-exclusive Ultra flagships, vivo has confirmed a genuine global launch for the X300 Ultra — complete with optional 200mm and 400mm Zeiss teleconverters.
Every previous vivo X-series Ultra — the X100 Ultra, the X200 Ultra — launched exclusively in China and stayed there. The X300 Ultra breaks that pattern: vivo has confirmed a genuine international rollout, making this the first Ultra-branded phone in the company's history to reach markets outside China. It's a notable reversal from a brand that's repeatedly kept its most ambitious camera hardware behind its home market's borders.
Why This Is a Bigger Deal Than It Sounds
Rival brands have played the same game — Oppo's Find X8 Ultra remains a China exclusive, and vivo itself has followed that playbook for two straight generations. Global buyers wanting a China-only Ultra have historically had one option: import it, lose the warranty, and deal with a Chinese-market software build with limited Google integration. The X300 Ultra's global availability means UK, European, and Indian buyers can now walk into an official vivo store — or vivo.com — and buy the actual top-tier flagship, not a scaled-back international variant standing in for it.
A Camera System Built Around Swappable Glass
The headline feature is a dual-200MP Zeiss camera system: a 1/1.12-inch main sensor paired with a gimbal-stabilised periscope telephoto sharing the same resolution. What sets it apart from typical periscope flagships is the option to attach 200mm or 400mm screw-on Zeiss teleconverters, extending the phone's effective reach well beyond what any built-in lens alone could manage — turning the phone into something closer to a compact camera system than a conventional smartphone.
Specifications and Availability
The X300 Ultra runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display running up to 144Hz and peaking at a claimed 4,500 nits. A 6,600mAh battery supports 100W wired and 40W wireless charging. Pricing lands at roughly £1,399 in the UK and €1,599 in Europe — firmly in flagship-Ultra territory, and a meaningful step up from the X300 Pro that launched alongside the standard X300 late last year.
