TCL is better known for TVs, but its mobile division (TCL Communication, founded 1999, formerly the maker of Alcatel and BlackBerry-licensed phones) has built a real niche around NXTPAPER — a paper-like display technology aimed at reducing eye strain and glare, sold at aggressively low prices through carriers like Metro by T-Mobile and C Spire in the US.
